Jacob Taylor Beach

Beach Location

The Jacob Taylor beach is a public bathing beach located near the Silver Sand Villas and south of the town of Duncan. The property consists of a moderate distribution of vegetation semi manicured landscape and lawns with small clusters of seagrass patches within the nearshore with larger patches offshores according to local fishermen. There is also a coral reef located offshore of the property. The property is considered to be well developed as there are several buildings on the beach, some of which are in need of repairs. These include craft stores, restaurants, bars (Leroy's Reggae Spot), the silver sands head office, and a storage shed for the fishermen; there is also lighting and bathroom facilities. The natural sediment contains medium coarse white sand with a gentle slope. There is an established garbage collection mechanism as there are receptacles located on the property.

Accessibility

Driving to Jacob Taylor Beach involves leaving the main north coast highway and turning towards Duncans, a left turn onto the road towards Silver Sands will lead to the beach.

There is a large open area which can accommodate several cars
